The eElib DEMS model was developed as an energy management system on the district level and is therefore connected to all of the districts’s components. The control gathers all of the component’s power flows, calculates the energy balance at the grid connection point of the energy hub and combines the component’s flexibility, to then send out power set values in each step.
Different operating strategies are and can be implemented to control heat pumps, charging station, and battery storages - from easy surplus operation to price-optimized behaviour.
